Artist Biography
Born on February 14, 1948 in Lima, Peru. The Painter of free training.
Passionate painter Leonidas Zavaleta impresses with an abstract expressionism of impeccable execution. Fresh and dynamic, factors that characterize him; sincere in his art as in
his life. Transparent and with a clear vision of the world, a sensitive and
young spirit. Zavaleta paints in warm, cold, pastel colors, tender and soft colors
in lively and strong chromatics. Sometimes serene and somber in greys and whites or passionate in reds. His paintings colorful complexity diffuses and calms its atmospheres like a multicolored Bird, breathing and crossing clouds teaches us to be free & just breathe.
As a true artist he defends spontaneity in art as a requirement
for a sincere style. He believes that it is not the time taken to paint the piece that gives it value but instead the skill that is used to create it. The ease of his hand and the precision of
its application is what makes his works one of a kind. He is truly skilled
and the master in execution.”
His painting is mostly abstract and expressionist, although in periods of his life he stood out for his work of figurative genre.
