Artist Biography

Jessica Palacios Biography
Jessica was born 1985 in the city of Cusco, Peru. The city known for its archaeological Inca remains and Spanish colonial architecture, surrounded Jessica with culture and design. Her interest in Art started at a young age of 8; she began sketching the Spanish architecture around her and took additional lessons with her art teacher in school to learn more techniques. In Secondary school her natural talent in art became apparent as she won several school awards for her work and it would often be chosen to be displayed in the offices of the school.
In 2004 she enrolled at the Escuela Nacional Superior Autónoma de Bellas Artes where she received a partial scholarship to attend. To make up the extra cost of her education she would spend her evening working in a restuarnt in Lima and on her free time paint gorgeous artworks which she would sell in the local markets. In 2009 she graduated with a bachelors in Artes Plásticas Visuales (Visual Arts). Before graduating, with the help of one of her professors she was noticed by the MAC – Museum of Contemporary Art and offered the opportunity to display some of her artwork in their gallery. This was the start of her career and since then she has displayed in several galleries worldwide including in: Peru, France, Spain and the United States.
Her artwork still shows the culture that surrounded her at a young age but her talent has grown with her and she continues to produce beautiful, colorful masterpieces.
