Artist Biography

Jacob Harrison

Jacob Harrison Biography

Jacob Harrison born (1971) was born in Córdoba, in central Argentina. Jacob lived in an upscale hotel which his parents ran and maintained. He would often see affluent and eccentric visitors who enjoyed the growing city. After meeting the surrealist artist Antonio Berni when Jacob was just a young boy his interest in art began to grow. He started drawing then moved on to painting surrealist art like his inspirer. After highschool Jacob went on to study civil engineering at National Technological University which was previously known as Universidad Obrera Nacional.

He continued to draw and paint in his spare time, sometimes hanging the work at the hotel his parents still worked at.

It wasn’t until a hotel guest inquired about purchasing some of his artwork that he considered a career in art instead. Jacob decided to leave his job as a civil engineer and return home where he opened a small shop within the hotel to sell his paintings. Over the years his styles have changed, no longer painting like the surrealist idol he looked up to but has found his own style and design. His new technique has led him to be a successful artist. His artwork has been included in several museums and exhibitions throughout South America, Europe and the United States.
